Description
Sabian 20" HHX Dominator Chinese Cymbal
Crafted in honor of legendary drummer and longtime Sabian partner Dom Famularo, the HHX Dominator China is both a tribute and a genuine instrument. Dom famously played his chinas by striking the edge from both sides in succession, so much so that he removed tension from the lips of his own HHX china cymbals, giving them a distinctive wavy appearance. Sabian's artisans developed a special lathing process to emulate that effect directly, which combined with a raw bell and HHX hammering makes for a freer, trashier instrument that opens up fast with a dark, sharp attack.

Player Notes
Owners who've played this describe the wobbly, wavy character as a genuine feature rather than a flaw — several specifically call out that unusual quality as their favorite part of the cymbal. It's built as a tribute to Dom Famularo, the "Global Ambassador of Drumming," a longtime Sabian artist since 1985, and the design captures a technique he developed himself by hand over years of hard use on his own chinas.
