Description
Sabian 18" XSR Fast Crash Cymbal
Made from pure B20 bronze using technology developed for Sabian's Evolution and X-Plosion lines, the XSR Series delivers premium tone and playability at a smart price point. At 18", this is one of the most consistently praised sizes in the whole XSR crash lineup — players repeatedly describe it as glossy, rich, and bright, with a sustain that opens into a faint ring as it washes out. Several compare it directly to Sabian's own AAXplosion crash, noting the XSR is brighter with slightly longer sustain at a meaningfully lower price.

Player Notes
This size draws the most direct comparisons to Sabian's pricier AAXplosion line — the consensus is that it's tonally brighter with a bit more sustain and a faint ring as it decays, versus the darker, shorter AAXplosion. One long-time player specifically called out its rich, cutting tone as strong enough to hold its own against high-end AAX or HHX crashes. A minority of players who prefer a very fast, short decay have found this size opens up more than they expected, describing it as closer to a china in character at speed — worth knowing if you specifically want a tight, quick crash rather than a fuller one.
