Description
Sabian 18" AAX X-Plosion Fast Crash Cymbal
Sabian's AAX Series delivers the "Modern Bright" sound — consistently bright, crisp, clear, and cutting. The X-Plosion Fast Crash trades some of the standard X-Plosion Crash's sustain for a thinner build, quicker response, and a brighter, more explosive attack. At 18", it's big enough that many players use it as a crash/ride hybrid, with a noticeably quicker decay than a comparable HH crash/ride.

- Big enough at this size to double as a crash/ride, with quicker decay than a typical HH crash/ride

Player Notes
At 18" and 19", reviewers note these X-Plosion Fast Crash sizes move into "crash/ride" territory — big enough to ride with a quarter-note pattern while still decaying faster than a comparable HH crash/ride, leaving air between beats. Played as a straight accent crash, the thinness produces a deeper pitch than you'd expect without sacrificing much high-frequency cut. One professional audio comparison found this size's tonal peak sits around 3.9kHz, noticeably brighter than the standard (non-Fast) X-Plosion Crash's 2.7kHz peak at the same size, confirming the audibly brighter character.
