The Dunlop HI01 Halo Inductor is a genuine Cry Baby replacement part and the component behind the voice of the Clyde McCoy wah. Wah pedals get their vocal, sweeping tone from the inductor, and the original Halo inductors used by Thomas Organ and Jen Electronica gave the first Clyde McCoy pedals their smooth, throaty sound. Those originals tended to pick up unwanted microphonic noise. Dunlop’s engineers updated the design with a stabilized cup core that keeps the vintage voice while minimizing microphonics.
