Aguilar

Founded in 1995 in New York City by bassist Dave Boonshoft and engineer Alex Aguilar, Aguilar Amplification was born out of frustration with the bass gear available at the time. Their first product, the DB 680 tube preamp, quickly became a studio staple and set the tone for everything that followed.

Since then, Aguilar has built a reputation among professional bassists for gear designed by bass players, for bass players — amplifier heads, speaker cabinets, preamps, pickups, and effects pedals engineered with the same clarity and low-end punch that made the DB 680 an industry standard. The brand has been used by bassists like Adam Clayton of U2, and in 2021 joined the Korg family while continuing to build every product in New York City.
